LokPix Frequently Answered Questions
"All the pictures are locked"
This can only happen if the passkey you just entered doesn't match the one that was used when the pictures were encrypted. A number of things can cause this - a typo, the on-screen keyboard selecting the wrong letter, or on some phones, the password gets auto-capitalized. The very first thing to try if this happen is to go to the Settings menu, and check "Show passkey characters". This will display the actual letters, instead of "*"s.
"Force Close..."
Welcome to Android Fragmentation - it's hard to predict what will happen when an appilcation is released into the wild. I put many hours of testing into each release, but there may be circumstances I can't control. Send me an e-mail with a descritpion of the problem, and I'll get back to you. This will help me make it even better.
"Maybe you can make the pictures in the app better looking? They look very quickly and slopily done"
It's a preview - the pictures are stored on the SD card in their full resolution. The phone screen isn't really big enough to get a good look at a 2048x1536 photo anyway. Export them and transfer to a computer, and you'll get the full resolution.
"I don't see the option to change my password..."
There isn't one. That is, there isn't one single password for the program. Rather, the passkey is used to create the crypto key to the photos that you take (or Import) while using it. So a passkey is tied to a picture (or group of pictures), not the phone. This means that you can use more than one passkey, and thus divide your photos up into different albums (which may be hidden from each other).
"Sadly, you can't change your password..."
See above. You don't have A password - you have as many passkeys as you need. Passkeys become part of the encryption key for the photos, and you could have a different one for each picture. In practice, a given passkey shuold be used to protect a set of related photos.
If you really need to change the passkey that a photo was saved with, Export it to Pictures, switch to the new passkey, then Import it back.
"You can delete the pictures without the right password..."
Yes, you can. You can also do that with any of the File Manager apps on the market, or you can mount the SD card in your PC and delete them there.
But... you can't VIEW the pictures without the correct passkey...
The whole point of this application is to protect the contents of your photos - not to create an unbreakable file vault. That can't really be done on the Android platform anyway, since there's always a way to get to the files. That's why LokPix goes to a lot of effort to protect what's in the files.
