LokPix Settings

LokPix has a number of settings that you may change to customize it's bahavior.  You can reach the Settings pages by pressing the [MENU] button at any screen except View (which currently has no settings).  Calling up Settings from the Main Screen will allow you to set any of the options:

Selecting Settings in Camera or Gallery will only display the options appropriate for that module.

The table below will list ALL of the possible settings, with a brief explanation of each.

General Settings
Strict Passkey Mode

If checked, you will be required to enter a passkey every time you return to the Main Screen.  This can save time if you are working with lots of different passkeys, or if you have a healthy paranioa.  Default is OFF

Show passkey charactersBy default, each character in your passkey is replaced with a dot when you enter the next one.  This prevents someone from watching your passkey over your shoulder.  If you have difficulties with this feature, you can turn it off by checking this option.  In that case, your passkey will be completely visible until you hit Enter or Cancel.  Default is OFF
Clean passkeySome people might have difficulty with the tiny buttons on the phone keyboard, and tend to hit extra keys.  If you unknowingly add a space at the end of your passkey, you might wind up capturing photos that you can't view in the future.  Remember - to go back and view old photos, the passkey has to be exactly the same as when they were created. This option will remove any spaces or tabs from the front and back of your passkey, reducing the chances of accidental typos.  Default is OFF
 Diagnostic mode

Activates additional logging messgaes.  Turn this on when directed to by Developer Support.

Picture Size

Click here to set the size of the captured picture.  Your choices are: Large (2048x1536), Medium (1024x768), or Small (512x384).  Default is Large

Picture Quality

Click here to set the JPEG quality level.  You choices are: Maximum (100%), High (80%), Medium (60%), or Low (40%).  Lower values reduce the size of the image file, but also add artifacts.  Default is 100%

Alternate Shutter

Button

This option will allow you to select the alternate shutter from 1 of 4 choices: the Trackball/D-Pad, the Enter key, a short Tap anywhere on the screen, or a Long Tap on the screen.  This is the only way to trigger the shutter on phone without a hardware camera button, such as the Evo.

 Save Without

Confirmation (LokPixPro)

If checked, this will skip the Save Picture popup after capturing a photo, and will go straight to the encryption.

 Mute Shutter Sound (LokPixPro)

If checked, this will mute all sounds associated with the self-timer and shutter.

 Timer Delay

This sets the delay between triggering the shutter, and the actual photo capture.  You can choose 0, 5, 10, or 20 seconds  (LokPixPro), or 10 seconds  (LokPixLite).  When the timer is running (and not muted), a click will be heard every second of the countdown.  The clicks will change at 3 seconds, and again at 1 second.

Whitebalance

Click here to set the color White Balance to fit your lighting.  Your choices are: Auto, Incandescent, Fluorescent, Daylight, Cloudy, Twilight, or Shade.  Default is Auto

    Defailt is OFF

  Default is OFF

Tap preview to open

If checked, you can view a picutre in the Gallery by simply Tapping on it's thumbnail, rather than having to select it and hit the View button.  This might be a bit faster for some people.

Restricted EraseIf checked, you will not be able to Erase a Locked picture.  This will prevent some accidental deletions.

 Locked Picture Information

If checked,  the Date and Size information will be displayed for Locked pictures.  If you want to keep this confidential,

uncheck this option.

 Sort Previews

By default, previews in the Gallery are sorted by creation date, with the oldest on the left.  If you have a lot of pictures, the phone doesn't have enough memory to properly sort the list.  This can cause the Gallery to appear to hang.  If this happens, turn this option Off
