TeaChimer Get it at the Market!(Version 1.10)
TeaChimer lets you easily create a list of timers, each up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds, with a ringtone to play at the end. Starting a timer is easy - simply select the one you want from the list, and tap it (or click the trackball).
The timer will start to count down. When it reaches 00:00, a Notifier will appear in the bar at the top of the display, and the ringtone you selected (if any) will start playing. Press the Back button to silence the sound, and clear the timer.
The timer continues to run in the background even if you switch away from the countdown screen. If you aren't on the timer display screen (say, talking on the phone), then the sound won't play. In this case, the notifier will still show up at the top.
TeaChimer is currently
Free in the Android Marketplace, under Applications/Tools. It's easy to use, fairly reliable, and rather useful.
Suggested uses:
- Consistent steeping of your favorite teas (obviously)
- Cooking a perfect hard-boiled egg
- Timing a pop quiz (your students will love it :)
- Enforce consistent timeouts for the naughty children
- Play hot-potato with your phone (better get a hard shell case first...)
And anywhere else that you can replace a $5 mechanical timer with your expensive phone :-)

| The main list, with the list of timers. Here you can add new timers, or delete old ones (use the MENU button). To select a timer for editing, roll the trackball to move the orange hilight bar up and down, then press MENU.
|

| Editing a timer. If you don't enter a name, the length of your timer (mm:ss) will be set as the name instead. The Ringtone defaults to Silent, which is no tone at all...
If you check the Loud box, the timer will set the Ringtone volume to MAXIMUM while it's playing. When you stop the sound with the Back button, the volume goes back to your original setting.
If you check Play Always, the alarm will sound no matter what screen you are on. If left unchecked, then the sound will play only if you have the timer displayed.
|

| This timer is running, updating the display every second. If you press the Back key, the countdown will cease and you'll go back to the list.
|

| This timer is done. If a Ringtone has been chosen, it would be playing now. Note the little Notifier icon at the top left. The drop down lists the time of day that the timer ended, in case you missed it. Even if the sound is muted, you'll get the Notifier.
Note: If you aren't on this screen, or you didn't select "Play Always", the ringtone WILL NOT PLAY when the time comes to an end. This is to prevent unexpected and annoying bursts of sound when you least expect it.
